Elephant Rock Sunset Walk

Elephant Rock rises above a quieter stretch of coast south of Arugam Bay. The reward is not a long summit trek but a widening view: lagoon country, surf, beach and the last light moving across the south-eastern horizon. Its apparent simplicity can be misleading, particularly close to dusk. The surrounding landscape is part of an elephant range, access routes can change and the return happens as daylight disappears. The Ceylon Edition therefore treats this as a guided sunset walk rather than an unsupervised photo stop. The guide chooses the approach, keeps a safe distance from wildlife and begins the descent before darkness compromises footing.
